Dear North Sashabaw Families,
September 2020
Dear North Sashabaw Families,
Welcome to North Sashabaw Elementary School! Whether you are returning, new to the district, or about to begin in Kindergarten, we can’t wait to meet you and your family!
This year school will begin on Tuesday, September 8th for a half day that starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, September 9th, will be a full day of school, ending at 3:00 p.m. We will also begin the year in a distance learning format. I know this is not what we hoped for to begin the year, but I also know that we can figure this out together and we look forward to our in-person return when it is safe to do so.
We have missed our students’ smiling faces and can’t wait to hear about summer adventures and see how much everyone has grown! I look forward to returning to a daily routine where I have the privilege of working with the best staff, awesome kids, and wonderful families!
Please make sure that you have signed up/registered for ParentSquare. This is our primary communication tool that we use with families. Please click HERE for more information about how to register if you haven’t already. Our teachers have been sending out communications throughout the last two weeks using ParentSquare. If you have not received information from your child’s teacher, please contact our Main Office at 248-623-4100, so we can assist you.
At NSE, our mission is to serve students, families, and each other in ways that create safety, connection, community, and the conditions necessary to be present for learning. As a result, our students will be well-prepared with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their goals. We look forward to partnering with you this year and every year to pursue our mission for children and families.
Please do not hesitate to reach out and contact us if you need anything.
Very Sincerely,
Jennifer Johnson
Principal
North Sashabaw Elementary School is located in Clarkston, Michigan. NSE's school mascot is the Wildcat and is one of seven elementary schools within the Clarkston Community School District. Kindergarten through 5th grade students attend North Sashabaw Elementary. Upon leaving 5th grade, students enter Sashabaw Middle School (6th and 7th grade) joining together with the other six elementary schools. Every year we enroll approximately 350-400 students. We are also a "Leader in Me" School! This means that we believe every child possesses unique strengths, gifts, and talents and therefore, everyone has the ability to be a leader. In order to move toward this end together, a common language and learning about 7 specific habits helps to guide us. NSE prides itself on educating the whole child in order be successful. You can check out our "Leader in Me" page for more information.
