DEAR NORTH SASHABAW FAMILIES,

Welcome to North Sashabaw Elementary School! We are eagerly awaiting the start of the school year!  As of the writing of this letter, we are planning to return to school this fall with COVID-related restrictions lifted.  Please take a moment to read Dr. Ryan’s August 5th update that provides more detail. That said, there were some changes that we implemented last year, particularly with our arrival and dismissal routines, that we will continue to keep because we found them to be more efficient and orderly. Finally, while I have shared this each fall when school begins, this year especially, I look forward to returning to a daily routine where I have the privilege of working with the best staff, awesome kids, and wonderful families!

Please make sure that you have signed up/registered for ParentSquare.  This is our primary communication tool that we use to connect with families.  Each week I will post a school update message on ParentSquare and teachers will also use ParentSquare to share classroom information with you.  Please click HERE for more information about how to register if you haven’t already.

To conclude, at NSE, our mission is to serve students, families, and each other in ways that create safety, connection, community, and the conditions necessary to be present for learning. As a result, our students will be well-prepared with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their goals.  We look forward to partnering with you this year and every year to pursue our mission for children and families.

Very Sincerely,

Jennifer Johnson
Principal

North Sashabaw Elementary School is located in Clarkston, Michigan. NSE's school mascot is the Wildcat and is one of seven elementary schools within the Clarkston Community School District. Kindergarten through 5th grade students attend North Sashabaw Elementary. Upon leaving 5th grade, students enter Sashabaw Middle School (6th and 7th grade) joining together with the other six elementary schools. Every year we enroll approximately 350-400 students. We are also a "Leader in Me" School! This means that we believe every child possesses unique strengths, gifts, and talents and therefore, everyone has the ability to be a leader. In order to move toward this end together, a common language and learning about 7 specific habits helps to guide us. NSE prides itself on educating the whole child in order be successful. You can check out our "Leader in Me" page for more information.
